In the course of modernisation, the professional action competence of teachers and representatives of other professions is a topical issue. The tasks of teachers and other actors within the education system demand an in-depth knowledge and ability, which is acquired in their basic training and extended in the course of their professional biography. From the perspective of professional biography, competence development represents a fundamental development task that goes beyond the initial training.
The research group analyses competence acquisition and development, resources and demands of the professional field, with the goal of providing knowledge regarding reflection and action, insights for the optimisation of preconditions and support of professional development of teachers and actors in the education system.
